APPSC, TSPSC
FAQ
Is the Telugu typing test free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up. Nothing you type is sent anywhere — the scoring happens in your browser, and your personal best is stored only on your own device.
Do I need a Telugu keyboard?
Any input method works, because the test compares Telugu against Telugu rather than watching your keystrokes. Use your phone's Telugu keyboard, a physical Telugu layout, our on-screen keyboard, or type in Tenglish on the typing tool and paste the Telugu back here.
What is an akshara, and why measure those instead of letters?
An akshara is one written Telugu syllable — what you see as a single character. In Unicode it is usually several code points: క్ష్మీ looks like one character but is five. A test that counted code points would report a speed about three times higher than what you actually typed, so this one counts aksharas.
What is a good Telugu typing speed?
Telugu aksharas carry more information than Latin letters, so the numbers are lower than an English typing test and are not directly comparable. Improving your own figure week over week is far more useful than any target — start on Easy at high accuracy, and let speed follow.
Does the timer start as soon as the page loads?
No. It starts on your first keystroke and stops the moment you finish the passage, so reading the sentence first costs you nothing.
